Steve Avila
Steve Avila is the founder and CEO of SA Global Strategies. He specializes in evaluating and improving how language works—across cultures, contexts, and increasingly, AI systems—focusing on where content is technically correct but fails in clarity, tone, or intent, and explaining why.
He approaches language like a system: patterns, ambiguity, edge cases, and failure modes. This translates directly to evaluating model outputs, where small differences in phrasing, structure, or cultural context can significantly impact quality and usability. His core strength is analytical evaluation—quickly identifying inconsistency, ambiguity, and weak structure, and transforming complex or unclear content into writing that is precise, coherent, and aligned with intent while preserving the original voice.
Steve studied Romance Studies at Dartmouth College, focusing on Portuguese and French, with additional academic work in Spanish. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French, with additional experience in Mandarin (HSK 5), intermediate Russian, and working familiarity with Cantonese.
He has worked extensively with writing, editing, and multilingual content evaluation in cross-cultural environments, applying structured frameworks to assess quality, detect subtle errors, and ensure consistency across large volumes of information. He is particularly focused on AI training, multilingual evaluation, prompt design, and language model alignment—where precision, nuance, and judgment directly impact outcomes.
Steve has led SA Global Strategies in continuous operation from Florida since March 2024, serving clients locally and around the world.
